SKY (Yoga & Meditation) was born with a mission to bring traditional Hatha Yoga trainings from India to Bali.

Our 300h Advanced Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training focuses on deepening your existing Yoga knowledge and boosting your confidence to teach more advanced classes.

Course Overview

This 31-day (30-night) advanced Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) is tailored for yogis who have completed a 200-hour YTT and are ready to deepen their understanding of Yoga and enhance their teaching skills. We will give you our 300h manual on arrival but also our 200h manual prior to the course for some important revisions.

Firmly rooted in the Hatha Yoga tradition, this course builds on the 200-hour YTT foundation, and aside from a brief review at the start, it will be all new knowledge. You will explore further into the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, covering new concepts from chapters I and II and introducing chapters III and IV. The course also delves deeper into Hatha Yoga Pradipika as well as the fascinating practices from Gheranda Samhita. Additionally, this 300-hour training covers the essential aspect of Yoga Psychology and a foundational introduction to Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga.

On the practical side, you will learn advanced techniques, including challenging asanas, new pranayamas (with extended ratio and kumbhaka control), and new interesting shuddi kriyas. You will also explore deeper meditation practices, such as Transcendental Meditation and a one-week Yoga Nidra course designed to prepare you to teach it confidently. We have also included a game-changing 2 silent days at the end of your third week to feel the true transformative power of silence alongside meditation.

Although the course is focused on Hatha Yoga, you will also have classes in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Kundalini Yoga for you to explore different modern Yoga styles.

Inspired by our experience at Kaivalyadhama, the first Yoga institute in the world to conduct scientific research (over 100 years ago now), we back our academic teachings with Yoga research articles and traditional texts references whenever possible.

To make your experience truly unique, we offer a range of optional activities: two Sunday excursions, weekly sound baths, Yogic movies nights, a short and a long fast for detox and many more fun add-ons. While all of these are included, they are optional, giving you the freedom to join as you wish.

Upon completion of the course, you will have the option to stay with us for an extra 3 days/nights (FREE accommodation, only actual course to pay) to attend our popular Sound Healing course to learn how to play Tibetan Singing Bowls and run sound baths.

You will also have the option to take the Level 1 or 2 exam from the Yoga Certification Board, organises by India’s Ministry of AYUSH, which will make you a Yoga Teacher certified by the Government of India.

Meditation Lab

Asana Lab

Over half of our course is dedicated to practical and hands-on tutorial classes, which are essential to your learning experience with us.

Our tutorial classes (asana lab and meditation lab) blend theory with immediate practice. In these sessions, you’ll learn how to perform specific advanced postures correctly and you will then practice these postures right away with hands-on guidance and corrections from your instructor. This is the perfect time to ask questions and take notes. The same applies to the meditation techniques where the techniques and desired outcome are explained clearly first before an experimental practice to test and understand it.

Practical classes, on the other hand, are purely about practice - no note-taking needed. The practical meditation time for our advanced course is 1h per day (compared to 30mins for the 200h) as it is expected that you have a some meditation experience before undertaking this course (all meditation levels are welcome but 1h daily can be challenging if you do not have any previous experience).

For the shuddhi kriyas and pranayama, you will engage in these practices during our daily morning sessions, with the theory being covered separately as we study the Hatha Yoga texts.

Theory classes

Our classes are very well structured and are designed to provide knowledge in a very clear and formatted manner to help you digest the workload.

For example, each theory class is split into 3 components, a comprehensive lecture, an active tutorial activity and dedicated Q&A time to clarify any doubts. Every lectures will be provided to you in your printed manual as well as in a digital format on WhatsApp at the end of each day.

When impurity is destroyed through the practice of the limbs of Yoga, then the rise of spiritual knowledge culminates in awareness of reality

Our Magical Jungle Eco Village

This is a place like no others.

Nestled in the traditional Balinese village of Pejeng, on the edge of Ubud, our eco village is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary in the heart of the jungle. Spread over two hectares of lush, spiritual land, we are home to an aquaponic garden, walking meditation maze, organic fruit and vegetable gardens and a vegetarian restaurant.

This truly magical place is also blessed by its visionary owner, Ludwig, who has lived for over 10 years with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the renowned creator of Transcendental Meditation.

The main villa, where your training takes place, features an 11-meter swimming pool, an open kitchen, a Yoga shala, a Yoga library, and five unique relaxation areas. We will also use another stunning Yoga shala for some specific classes and our unique sound and meditation dome for the more spiritual practises.

Our restaurant serves delicious, freshly prepared vegetarian meals (with vegan options on request) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus herbal teas throughout the day, beginning with a 6 am detox ginger tea.

Following 20 years of travelling the world and living between England, India and Australia, Simon shifted his Yoga skills from his French national championship gymnast background to a deeper focus on traditional knowledge, incorporating the mental and spiritual benefits of Yoga into its physical practices. After earning a high distinction in his Bachelor of Psychology, he went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Education (1 year full time) at the prestigious Kaivalyadhama College in India where he ranked second out of 58 students. He is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Yoga and Naturopathy with the aim of pursuing a PhD in Yogic Science. Simon previously completed a range of Yoga Teacher Trainings in Nepal and India as well as a 1 year Diploma in Energy Healing in Australia. He has been teaching yoga classes and workshops daily for eight years in London and Sydney, sometimes to more than 150 students a week. Although he enjoys teaching classic asana classes, he likes to specialise in pranayama and deep meditation courses. Passionate about sharing authentic and traditional yogic knowledge, he founded the SKY (Yoga & Meditation) training center to inspire worldwide students to understand what Yoga really means.
